The BOM Lead position at Stitchin’ Heaven fulfills an important part of our Production team, preparing and supporting our Block of the Month program. This position requires an individual that knows how to work both independently as well as leading a team. They must understand the value of completing projects that meet quality standards, on time and according to a schedule. The BOM Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operation/planning and execution of BOM department.  This position will report to the Production Manager. 

The BOM Lead must be aware of the processes within the Production Department and have knowledge of every aspect of the processes needed to deliver 100% customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control – Laser and BOM Programs

  • Fabric verification.
  • Cut verification.
  • Packaging verification.
  • Shipping verification.

Monitor the cleanliness and safety of the production work area. 

Production planning, direction, and assignment of BOM programs to the BOM staff.

Provide guidance and assistance with questions and material needs to production staff.

Maintain records of production activities, including schedules, and quality reports.

Close communication with customer service reps regarding concerns of BOMs received and resolution of those concerns.

Continuous monitoring and updating of the production tools to determine staff assignments, and completion date tracking. 

Go to store or WH is staff need additional fabric for BOM.

Coordinate the movement of Large BOM programs to shipping and acquiring pallets to assist the programs that have completed with backing. 

Notifying BOM Billing of any delays for BOM shipments.

Update comments on the Smartsheet for any developments or changes regarding BOM packaging, in addition to causes for delays. 

Evaluate team performance and provide feedback or coaching as needed.

Celebrate milestones or exceptional performance within the team.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Prior experience in production, operations, or a similar leadership role.
  • Familiarity with quality control and logistics in a manufacturing or production setting.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, production management, or related fields is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet (or similar tools).
  • Knowledge of fabric handling, cutting, and packaging processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a production environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting materials as needed.
  • Capability to ensure cleanliness and safety in the workspace.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong collaboration skills to work with the Production Manager, customer service representatives, and other departments.
