The Laser Production Specialist position at Stitchin’ Heaven fulfills an important part of our Production team, preparing and supporting our laser-cut quilting products. This position requires an individual that knows how to work both independently as well as on a team. They must understand the value of completing projects that meet quality standards, on time and according to a schedule. The Laser Production Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day set-up, operation/planning and basic maintenance of laser cutting machines.  

The Laser Production Specialist must be aware of the processes within the Production Department and have knowledge of every aspect of the processes needed to deliver 100% customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicates with Production Manager and Pre-Production Team to design new products and produce prototypes.
• Creates new design files and modifies existing design files as needed (CAD)
• Tests new designs and works with Quality Control to meet product standards
• Creates Cut Sheets & Packaging Inserts for new programs
• Works with Laser Production Team to package and prepare laser products to completion
• Manages the return of fabric to correct locations
• Works with Customer Service Team to handle customer issues
• Performs machine setup including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials.
• Diagnoses machine problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed.
• Performs laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications.
• Performs time studies for projects, collects and passes on information
• Performs start-up and shut down procedures for laser machines.
• Performs machine maintenance and housekeeping per established schedules
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains a professional workspace and workflow

Qualifications

Experience

• Previous experience with laser-cutting equipment and operations preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD software and design file management.
• Background in production or manufacturing environments is a plus.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or certification in laser cutting, CAD design, or a related field is advantageous.

Skills

• Proficiency in using CAD and laser-cutting software.
• Knowledge of fabric types and cutting requirements.
• Mechanical aptitude for performing basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
