Lori Holt's blog "A Bee in My Bonnet" is famous for sharing what the designer calls "creative buzzing in my head trying to get out". Holt's 8th-anniversary quilt "Bee Happy" celebrates that creative spirit and the joy that inspires it. Pieced blocks combine with applique to bring you a quilt sure to make you happy as well. The joy bubbles forth in whimsical images of chickens, flowers, trees, canning jars, and even a glamping trailer, all punctuated here and there by little bees buzzing from border to border. Fabric substitutions will match the picture as closely as possible. Lori Holt also recommends: bias tape makers in ¼", 3/8",1/2", ¾" and 1" sizes, sew in Interfacing, applique glue, light spray starch, and Cute Little Buttons. See related products below.
During this 15-month program, you will receive the pattern, Bee Happy Shapes, and fabrics needed to complete the quilt top, including borders, binding, and binding rick-rack trim. We will also make it easy for you to find the links in Lori Holt's blog for each segment of the quilt, so you get the benefit of all her instructions and inspiration. There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee, then just $29.95 per month beginning in November 2021. * The finished quilt measures 72" x 80".
Backing Fabric: You will need 5 yards of 44-45" wide fabric to complete your quilt. Our recommendations for backing will be coming soon.
