Grand Central Sew-Along

Begins September 7, 2022

Get ready to join Stitchin’ Heaven for a 9-week sew along with special guest Michelle Hiatt. Michelle is an award-winning Quilter, National Instructor, and Designer of ‘Sew on the Go’ patterns. During the sew along, Michelle will provide online instruction with simplified piecing techniques to easily complete the Grand Central quilt. Sew along will include video instruction on the project, question and answer sessions, exclusive Facebook group for participants to interact with teacher and other participants, and fun drawings and giveaways.

The Grand Central quilt is inspired by the iconic beauty and legacy of Grand Central Terminal, an historic world-famous landmark in Midtown Manhattan. Michelle combines the Viaduct Wedge and Celestial Star Block, both inspired by the great architecture, to create a Quilt Center with tons of interest and movement. The Quilt Center is surrounded by a pieced Snail’s Trail Border.

We will be doing the Throw size quilt during the sew along (69” x 69”), but the pattern includes additional sizes (from wall to King sizes). Grand Central comes together easily with the Studio 180 Design’s Wedge Star™, Large Square Squared™, and Tucker Trimmer III™ tools.

The quilt is somewhat scrappy. To make the sew along even simpler, the fabric specialists at Stitchin’ Heaven have put together kits that include all the fabrics for the top, binding, and the pattern. We created two colorways, so choose the one that speaks to you.

Purchase a kit (includes the pattern) or the pattern only from Stitchin’ Heaven, and sign up for the sew along below for only $5.

In addition to registering, remember to subscribe to our email list in order to receive the most updated information about your sew-along as well as the invitation to the Facebook Group and chance to win fun drawings and giveaways!
