Quilters Of The Caribbean

May 27 - June 3, 2018

Join Stitchin' Heaven and Friends on a 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise!

Cruise and learn from three quilting experts: Jackie Kunkel, Daniela Stout, & Amy Walsh!

Dear Friends,

Ahoy Me Hearties! All hand hoy and avast ye! (Everyone get on deck and pay attention!) On this voyage into the Caribbean we plan to batten down the hatches and set sail for a week of pillage, piracy, and plunder.  We for sure won’t be marooned and no one is planning any mutiny or we will have to walk the plank and become shark bait! Our Privateer, Buccaneer, and Bucko will teach us our lessons and sometimes run a rig (play a joke or trick on someone) so plan to be entertained and we will all say “Shiver Me Timbers” each time we finish a project. So gather yer doubloons and come aboard! Aarrrrgggh!

Instructors

Jackie Kunkel

http://cvquiltworks.com/

When Jackie was pregnant with their first child, she decided to pick up a sewing machine and began to sew baby clothes for their new baby. At her husband's encouragement, she took a quilting class. A second class was taken, and Jackie was in love with quilting! In 2000, Jackie opened her business, Canton Village Quilt Works. Loving paper piecing, she became a Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor and began to travel throughout the country teaching, lecturing, and showing quilts. She is a Craftsy.com teacher and just released her book, Splash Of Color. She just released her own fabric line and coordinating patterns with Island Batik. Getting to teach, design, and run her quilt shop is Jackie's passion.

Daniela Stout

www.cozyquilt.com

Daniela is the owner of Cozy Quilt Shop in El Cajon, California. She has published many books and patterns under Cozy Quilt Designs. Her quilt shop called Cozy Quilt Shop opened in 2003.

Soon after they opened there doors, Daniela started to design patterns for a program she called Strip Club. The patterns were based on 2 1/2" strips and a new craze was born along with a crazy new publishing venture. Daniela has now published over 100 patterns, and many books, along with her Strip Tube Ruler and 10" ruler! So much happens at her shop that she is fond of saying.... "Never a dull moment at Cozy!"

Amy Walsh

www.blueundergroundstudios.com

Amy has been quilting since junior high when her mother and grandmother taught her to hand piece. A love of pattern and color kept her building her fabric stash throughout college and years as a junior high history teacher. Eventually, she left teaching and became a longarm quilter. In 2005, she became the co-owner and designer for Blue Underground Studios, Inc. Since then, she has published over 30 patterns and co-authored 2 books in addition to designing fabric for Riverwoods.

Two of Amy’s loves are teaching and quilting, so naturally she loves to teach quilting!  She is honored to be part of the faculty on this quilting cruise and can't wait to meet everyone!
