Kim Brunner

Kim Brunner

www.kimmyquilt.com

While growing up, most of Kim Brunner’s school vacations were spent at her grandparents' farm where her grandmother, who had the patience of a saint with a little girl and her clumsy fingers, taught Kim to do all kinds of handwork (probably in a desperate attempt to keep her from going out to terrorize the chickens!). Kim’s love of quilting, and her desire to grow up to be just like Grandma, has led her to an amazing and rewarding career as a professional quilter. And, as if that weren't enough fun, quilting has led her to teaching which is exactly where she believes she belongs.

Kim says “I love that my job allows me to spend my life in pursuit of creative pleasures. Stitching new quilting designs, developing new techniques and tools, cutting up perfectly good fabric into little bitty pieces and then sewing it all back together again to make quilts and above all, teaching new quilters to believe in themselves and their abilities is my idea of a wonderful life and I am so grateful to Grandma for setting my feet on this path. Who would have thought that being a grown-up would be so much fun? I get to teach quilting stuff to happy and creative people!”

Kim’s work has been published in numerous books, magazines and calendars and, twice honored with the title of Machine Quilting Teacher of the Year, she is an Ambassador for the Handi Quilter company and travels extensively to teach at national and international quilting festivals and shows.

Sandra Coffey

Sandra Coffey

Sandra's passion is fiber art, especially quilting. She has been sewing since childhood and then made clothing for my entire family after she married. She learned the art of quilting soon after moving to Alaska. Sandra started quilting in 1976 and is always open to new techniques and patterns. She began teaching in 1995 and loves to share the skills needed to pass on this beautiful tradition. She is one of our most beloved local teachers and is Judy Niemeyer Certified!

Sandra joined our Stitchin' Heaven family in 2006 as the Block of the Month manager. She is also a long arm quilter. She does beautiful work quilting many of our shop models, several of which, have been featured in magazines.

Chris Hoover

Chris Hoover

www.whirligigdesigns.com

Chris began quilting in 1989 when she made her first sampler quilt. Sewing a block a week quickly turned into sewing a block a day and soon sampler quilts and scrappy quilts became her all-consuming passion. “Quilting soothes my soul and has kept me sane many times over the years!” Her eclectic style is inspired by everything from color and texture to architecture and nature and she loves to share her passion speaking and teaching classes for quilt shops and guilds since 1999. Her designs have been seen in Quiltmania, Best Fat Quarter Quilts, Best Weekend Quilts and Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks. She was a finalist in McCall’s 2012 Design Star competition.

“My designs may look complicated but they are easily broken down into simple elements. I encourage quilters to see beyond the color and fabric in a quilt and to imagine the possibilities of the design – how to make it suit their individual style.” Chris designs under the name Whirligig Designs.

But it’s more than just convenient — rev up for your cruise from Miami with the city’s nonstop action, from party-ready South Beach to the Mediterranean style of Coral Gables, plus spicy Little Havana, which hums to an island beat.

Day 3

Labadee, Haiti

Only Royal Caribbean can take you to the private beach destination of Labadee. Our private paradise sits on the north coast of Haiti, surrounded by beautiful mountain slopes and exotic foliage. This exclusive destination offers pristine beaches, breathtaking scenery, incredible thrills and spectacular water activities. Regardless of where you go, you'll find yourself embraced by the beautiful landscape. Labadee's native charm, along with its natural beauty, make this a destination not to be missed. It's impossible to choose just one thing that's special about Labadee. The inviting beach, coral reefs and exciting amenities provide a perfect place to relax and have fun.

Day 3 Image

Day 4

Falmouth, Jamaica

Quaint Falmouth was an economic powerhouse and center for dramatic social change during the English Colonial Period. In today's Falmouth, visitors still enjoy 19th-century Georgian architecture as well as river bamboo raft rides, arts and crafts shopping, flavorful local fare and horse-and-buggy rides. Falmouth is the gateway to the best Jamaica has to offer. Just east of Falmouth is Ocho Rios, known for its spectacular Dunn’s River Falls. Travel west to reach Montego Bay and the beautiful beaches of Negril. Thanks to its central location, Falmouth gives visitors the best tour experiences of the north coast of Jamaica. Visit the spectacular Dunn's River Falls near Ocho Rios, where you can climb 600 feet up from the base of the falls or retreat to the beach where the rushing water exits into the ocean. At Dolphin Cove you can watch the dolphins at play or walk through the jungle to see friendly birds and iguanas. From dune buggy safaris and river tubing to a horse and buggy tour, you will find many activities to keep you entertained.

Day 6

Cozumel

Cozumel features great diving, snorkeling and beaches, marine-life encounters, botanical gardens, trails and shopping in the town of San Miguel. The nearby mainland is home to Tulum, Mayan cliff side ruins overlooking the Caribbean. Don't miss the opportunity to explore the ruins of the ancient Mayan city of Tulúm, majestically perched above the turquoise Caribbean. The site was occupied as far back as 600 A.D. However, it was most densely populated around 1200 A.D. You will be struck by the pyramid-shaped El Castillo, which dominates the city from atop a forty-foot cliff. The nearby Temple of the Descending God provides equally excellent insight into the architecture of the Mayan people, who gained considerable achievements in the arts and sciences, only to decline and vanish for no apparent reason.
