Kim fell in love with quilting in the late 1990s upon impulsively purchasing a pattern of a quilt she admired. On her self-taught journey awards and accolades were not far off after completing just her third quilt, Kim was winning awards from renowned quilting magazines such as the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine's 1998 Pieces of the Past quilt challenge. From a hobby and side-interest, this became Kim's full-time career. Kim's favorite quilts are traditionally inspired patchwork designs, and if applique is involved, even better! Kim retired from traveling and teaching in 2015 and now spends her days doing what she loves most, stitching, designing, cooking, and spending time with family.
