GDQ 5.5" 60° Triangle Ruler

This ruler, with points on all three tips, is small enough to fit in your hand and easy to work with when reversing the triangle to cut alternating directions. The ruler is etched with 1/4" lines to line up with your strips for cutting triangle sets for the Hexified Panel Quilts or One Block Wonders. A 1/4" line is etched along each long side to allow you to see what will appear after seams are sewn. Being clear, you can easily see through the ruler to fussy cut triangles as desired. Diagonal lines on opposite corners are etched at 1", 2", and 3", so the same ruler can be marked for more than one strip width at a time. Liz recommends adding a guide to the bottom side of your ruler to help keep your cutting lines straight and consistent. Adding a 1/4" strip of Dr. Scholl's Molefoam Padding, or other tape product, to the bottom of your ruler to give a dimensional guide that will "box in" your triangles as you cut them is very helpful. Line up the 60 degree angle on your triangle ruler with the 60 degree line on another ruler, placing the tip at the line equaling your strip width. In the photo shown, the tip is at 2 3/4" and the molefoam strip was added across the bottom of the ruler at the 2 3/4" etched line. The other two corners are set for 2 1/2" and 2 1/4" strips as those are strip widths often used.
