For transitioning from cruising to land for a quilt retreat, Stitchin Heaven did an amazing job. Tables were set up to meet Covid standards. There were lots of little gifts and surprises along the way. Chocolate was handed out when called for. The excursion to the fabric shop was lovely and the lunch they provided top notch. The trip to the Titanic Museum was one that I will not forget for a very long time.

I wanted to finally share a picture of my "Scrap Crazy " quilt that you demonstrated for quilters who visited your shop on the bus trip, I think in 2016 from the Waco area. I bought the 10" layer cake fabrics, the template for the 8" Scrap Crazy" and you all helped me co-ordinate the border fabrics.
I love this quilt and use it as a coverlet in my guest bed room.

A little side story. I am a person who loves written directions even if it is just cut, sew, iron etc. When I got the kit I saw the insert on the fabric, the borders etc but NO DIRECTIONS! I had to really talk to myself to wait for the scrap crazy templates to come and hope there were directions with them! Luckily there were and I am a happy camper. It all stemmed from the fact I forgot to order them with the kit! Even that was a pleasant experience. As soon as I realized I forgot to order them I sent you an email. Within hours Debbie answered and even told me what to do so I would not be charged shipping.

I signed up for the Downtown Block of the Month in order to learn Foundation Piecing. It's so fun to receive a project every month and the staff has been so kind and patient with me. Good morning! I realize that this is long overdue, but I wanted to send a quick thank you. I was a free fabric Friday winner back in the fall, and it was such a wonderful treat! It took me some time to choose, but I finally decided on a yard from the Polka Dots and Paisley line. I didn’t know what I was going to do with it, but I knew I had to have it. I was lucky to find the Moda Frivol that uses that fabric line while at the Houston Quilt Show. So, I owe you a huge thank you for the fabric! I haven’t had a chance to start on my little frivol because I am stuck in a baby quilt back log. (Not a bad problem to have!) When I first started quilting, my husband enrolled me in your block of the month for “Charlie Kissed Me.” It was way beyond my capabilities at the time, so I packed it away. I’m happy to say that once I get done with all the baby quilts, I’ll finally be able to finish that quilt. It was such a sweet story, and I can’t wait to see the finished product. On another note, my husband and I drove up from Houston for Small Business Saturday. I think some people thought it was strange to get a hotel room and drive all that way just to go to a quilt shop, but I “window” shop on your website all the time and I was so excited to get the opportunity to visit. I wasn’t disappointed! The store is lovely, and I had a really hard time choosing what to buy. All your staff members were so kind and gracious, and the other customers were friendly and fun. All-in-all, it was a great experience, and I can’t wait to visit again! I picked up the Clay’s Braid quilt kit because I liked the colors, but not really having a plan for it. I finally realized that of all the quilts I’ve made over the years, I had only made one for my son – back when he was 4. He’s now 16, so it will be perfect for him. I am trying to back fabric for roller shades that I'm going to have someone else cut and mount on the hardware, so I don't need to by the whole kit (at about $30/window for 4 windows). I had trouble finding Fuse-a-Net by the yard here in Massachusetts. The supplier for my usual fabric store recently stopped carrying it. I found Stitchin' Heaven online and called b/c the quantity didn't specify whether it was by the yard (one would assume so, but you never know!). So I called, the woman I spoke to was very professional and helpful. She checked to make sure it was in stock and took my order on the phone. I was so happy to find it so easily and to pay $72 instead of the $120 I would have paid if I had to go the kit route. To top it off, there was no tax b/c it is being shipped out of state, plus the order qualified for free shipping!

Each time our newsletter arrives in my email inbox, I'm excited for a quick walk through part of your store. Life has "set me down" and I haven't touched quilting in over two years. Nevertheless, you have kept me mentally inspired with your newsletter. I wish I could take another trip with you. One of my best friends and I went to Lancaster, PA last fall and it was wonderful. I thought we had taken the dream trip of a lifetime for me when we went to England the summer before. My paternal grandfather came to America from England alone when he was 17 years old. So being in England was like going home without ever having been there. Then I went to Lancaster. I was born and raised in West Virginia, even attending a one-room grade school with no running water. My first job out of college was in PA, about 30 miles south of Erie, so quite a distance from Lancaster. My maternal grandmother had roots in Pennsylvania Dutch. So, there are roots in Amish, too. Now that my meager budget is now feeding and housing four of us instead of just me, another trip is not in the future. I have no complaints - I am blessed to have taken the trips I did and to be to have this part of my family with me right now. Everything with the trip went smoothly. I have ordered a Dear Jane which I have yet to start. It's difficult to try to do anything when you basically have the "waking" care of a 2, almost 3, year old. Her life has been very stressful and she has a great need to know that she is not being left and someone she knows and trusts is coming back after her. According to court records, her mom just went back to jail again yesterday. I'm proud of my son trying to get custody of her and working two jobs to do that and take care of her. I want others to know the service about the Block of the Month and a trip were wonderful and I would do either again and again..

Hi Thank you for your emails. Wow! These fabrics are absolutely fabulous. At first glance I can imagine the following: Skylights in the Grand Canyon – I picture this being used on a wall hanger or quilt with the lights from a light house on the foreshore. There is another one that would be perfect for the cliff and foreshore. Skylights Phenomenom – Wow a storm with lightning strikes on the horizon from a ship at sea. After the storm mist – used for waves breaking over a ships bow. Just felt I should share my thoughts with you. Some of the floral garden ones remind me of the Old Masters Oil Paintings (Like Matisse and Picasso for e.g.) I am currently working on Mariners Compass quilts some the other watery ones would make ideal backgrounds. So many and so much we could do with them. My leadlight porthole that I still have under construction would be fabulous if I could find the glass in similar textures LOL. I stopped into your store last Thursday (with DH). I have never been in a quilt store like yours and could have spent HOURS (just stayed 1 1/2 hours). Everyone is so nice and helpful! The fabric is beautiful! I sure wish I lived closer! Who would ever dream that there is such a jewel in Mineola, Texas! Thank you for a lovely morning. Oh, and your recommendation to go to lunch at Kitchens was perfect! Loved the stuffed tomato!

Hi, Kelly! I just wanted to write back to you and tell you that the gift certificate was a hit and such a surprise for the birthday girl!! She had no idea how I was able to get her the gift certificate. I'm really glad I went with a Stitchin' Heaven gift certificate over a Craftsy gift certificate!!!! I messaged Craftsy on their gift certificates, because through them you can only gift 1 to 3 classes. If the classes are on sale, I'm understanding that there's no carry-over balance and that you can't use the Craftsy gift certificate towards quilting supplies! That's so ridiculous to me, because if you buy a gift certificate, you should be able to spend it any way you want in that store. I found out later that the Craftsy gift certificate policies were so weird and I'm soooooooo glad I ended up with a Stitchin' Heaven gift certificate for Jessica. I was working on the Ladies of the Sea applique BOM when I realized I had stitched two of the boats and one boarder at 94% instead of 100%. Not wanting to resize the entire quilt I called Stitchin' Heaven and they were able to resend BOTH of the fabric packages so I was able to correct my mistake. I wanted to thank you for the excellent BOM club and the response I have received from the project "All Roads Lead to the Sea". I finished quilting my project this week and it will be submitted at my guild's quilt show in the BOM/Kit category in May. I have attached a picture of the finished quilt. As you can see, I did not use the two borders on the quilt but decided to create a 'blue' border with ship signal flags all around. I used over 25 different thread colors to match the many different fabrics in the quilt. I quilted the top using my Bernina 440 QE with a stitch regulator on a Bernina quilt rack. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to get the quilting right. Thank you again.

ust want to thank you and all of your Quilt Shop friends for the joyful NORTH TEXAS PATCHWORK EXPRESS experience that we enjoyed this past weekend. We had a great time at all of the shops. We realize that it is a lot of work but please know that we very much appreciated all of the friendship and hospitality. North Texas certainly has an abundance of great shops! We are already looking forward to next year's adventure. Attached are a couple of pictures that were taken while on the trip. The lady I spoke with was marvelous , she picked out my fabric ( with is scary to do for someone else). The fabric was excellent and both color and quality. I have two little girls, granddaughters. Grace is two in September and Ava who is 10 weeks old. I wanted to make these as something for them to own even when they are adult and hopefully use for their little girls. Part of the story of these quilts, and all quilts have a story, is that I have just one item passed down to me. It is a letter that my grandma wrote to my father who was in the army and somewhere in Holland during the Second World War. They lived on the East end of London close to the dockyards and my grandma is describing a recent bomb raid during what was known as the 'Blitz'. My grandparents were bombed out (total loss of home) three times during this period. Unfortunately they both died in the latter months of the war. I never met them. I treasure that letter dearly and I hope my grandchildren will remember me with a smile when they are older and I am not around any more. On a happier note, I have after a 13 year search, via the internet, managed to obtain a very grainy photograph of my fathers parents. I was so happy to see it and I will treasure it along with the letter. Sorry to have rambled on, I hope I have not bored you but perhaps my little story will help you understand why I was so anxious to buy these two kits (Fairy Tales). I saw the quilt hanging in the seller booth at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham they just jumped right into my heart. Thank you so much.
