Stitchin' Heaven's Alaska quilting cruises in 2027 are three August sailings on Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas, round-trip from Seattle. Named teachers, a dedicated classroom, and a sewing machine come with the fare.
I'll be honest — these Alaska sailings are my favorite thing on our calendar every year. There's something about watching a whole ship's worth of quilters settle in together for a week: glaciers sliding by outside the window, machines humming away in the classroom, everybody comparing fabric they smuggled past the "you don't need more" voice in their head. In 2027 we're doing it three weeks in a row, so if you've been waiting for the right one, your quilting cruise to Alaska in 2027 is probably somewhere in this lineup. The three 2027 Alaska weeks
Northern Passage opens the season August 9–16, with Amanda Niederhauser and Beverly McCullough teaching. This route takes you into Sitka, Skagway, and Juneau, then eases past Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier before a stop in Victoria, B.C. on the way home. Interior cabins start at $2,599 per person, double occupancy — just plan for taxes, port fees, and gratuities on top of that, which run $682.86.
Sew Frosty sails August 16–23, with Lisa Norton and Lora Zmak — the Material Girlfriends design duo — teaching Double Arrow and Double Bear Paw. You'll see the same Alaska scenery as our other two weeks: Sitka, Skagway, Juneau, Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, and an evening in Victoria, B.C. Interior cabins start at $2,399 per person, double occupancy, with oceanview at $2,699 and oceanview with balcony at $2,999 — plus $677.05 in taxes, port fees, and gratuities.
Quilts & Glaciers wraps up the season August 23–30, with Marilyn Foreman (Everlasting) and Sherri Noel (Hygge) teaching. You'll see the same Alaska scenery as Northern Passage — Sitka, Skagway, Juneau, Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, and an evening in Victoria. Interiors start at $2,099 per person, double occupancy, with oceanview at $2,499 and balcony at $2,699, plus $677.05 in additional charges.
A $350 per person deposit is all it takes to hold your spot on any of the three. If you want a Sail n' Sew kit, don't sit on it too long — they're optional, and they really do sell out. Prefer to bring your own project? Pack your own precut fabric and pattern instead — just know there's no fabric shop on board, so anything you forget stays forgotten until we're back in port.
One thing I tell everyone who asks: book through Stitchin' Heaven Travel, not the cruise line directly. That's the only way you get our group rate and a seat in the sewing classroom — a regular cruise-line booking won't include either one.
