The terms' quilting panels' and 'fabric panels' are interchangeable when describing the pieces of fabric used in constructing a quilt. Typically, quilt panels are cut from a bolt of material, usually about ⅔ of a yard, cut between 24" or 36" wide, into squares or rectangles. Some prepackaged fabric panels are a standard 24" x 42" rectangle.
