Overview

Dear Friends,

Hawaii! Oh wow! This is one of our most favorite cruises all year. There is only ONE sailing as Royal Caribbean is re-positioning the ship from Alaska to Australia and Hawaii is on the way. On this cruise we will depart from Vancouver, make a stop in Victoria (beautiful!) and then head for the islands. Our voyage will take us four days to get there so we will be busy in the sewing room taking classes, learning new quilting techniques, and making friends. Once we arrive in the islands we will have some fun excursions, visit some great quilt stores, and continue to sew in the evenings as our sewing room is open 24/7! PLEASE join us on this incredible cruise! You will NOT regret it!

Strippy Double Diamond

Strippy Double Diamond

Strippy Double Diamond is one of those quilt designs that looks really complicated but is really, really simple to put together. Basically use of color is what is important in the design as it is made using rectangles that are cut in half, rearranged, and sewn back together.

This pattern design is by Carol Morrissey and will be taught by Sandra Coffey who will both entertain and educate you as we sail around Hawaii!

Finished Size: 70” x 84”

NOTE: Fabrics in our Sail 'n Sew kits will be similar but not exactly as shown.

You can purchase your Sail N Sew kit when registering for the cruise.

If you do not purchase the Sail 'n Sew you will need to purchase the pattern here: Strippy Double Diamond

Island Lagoon

Island Lagoon

This beautiful quilt was designed by our own Deb Luttrell. The bright blues and green in this quilt make you feel like you are in an Island Lagoon. You could jump in and go swimming in the calm blue waters. Or how about a picnic on the beach under a shady tree!

This traditionally pieced quilt will come together quickly and easily with it's log cabin blocks. You are sure to leave with a treasure to remember.

Finished Size: 77" x 77"

NOTE: Fabrics in our Sail 'n Sew kits will be similar but not exactly as shown.

You can purchase your Sail N Sew kit when registering for the cruise.

If you do not purchase the Sail 'n Sew you will need to purchase the pattern here: Island Lagoon Digital Pattern

Day 8

Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii

The former whaling village, Lahaina preserves its 19th-century heritage alongside funky shops, boutiques, galleries and gourmet dining. It is also the gateway to the distinctive volcanic landscapes of Maui, known as the Valley Isle. Explore Haleakala Crater, a dormant volcanic crater Hawaiians once considered one of the most sacred places on the island. Haleakala Crater is the highest point on Maui at 10,023 feet above sea level, so you'll have unparalleled views of the island from the summit. The volcano last erupted in 1790. However, evidence of volcanic activity from long ago abounds in the stunning streaks of gray, red, yellow and black that mark the flow paths of lava, ash and cinder.
