Quilting Instructors & Projects
Michelle Walker
Michelle Walker has been a prominent figure in the quilting community for over 25 years, beginning her journey inspired by a cherished baby quilt from her grandmother. After mastering the art while working as a librarian, she founded Red Door Quilter in Beaumont, TX, in 2016, and quickly became known for her expertise in fabric collage and beginner patterns. She also shares her knowledge through local quilting classes, helping beginners develop their skills.
Her exceptional work has earned her features in Quiltmania Magazine and exhibitions at the prestigious Texas Quilt Guild Showcase at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in 2019 and 2023. Known for her patience and a keen eye for color, Michelle continues to influence and inspire within the quilting community.

Perfect for both novice and seasoned quilters, the Mod Flower Box quilt combines contemporary style with traditional quilting techniques.

7.25 yards of coordinated backing fabric will be needed.
NOTE: If you choose to provide your own fabric you will need the Mod Flower Box pattern.
Catherine Wilson
Catherine Wilson has been an avid quilter since her high school days and ventured into quilt design in her twenties. What began as a hobby evolved into a flourishing career in quilt design, a path she embraced wholeheartedly. Catherine's signature style blends traditional piecing with a modern twist, reimagining classic quilt blocks with contemporary fabrics and fresh layouts.
Her dynamic approach to quilting, often humorously referred to as "Quilting ADD" by her family and friends, reflects her enthusiasm for exploring a vast array of quilt styles and colors. This passion not only drives her creative designs but also enriches her contributions to the quilting community, making her a beloved figure among peers and enthusiasts alike. Catherine's innovative work celebrates the rich heritage of quilting while pushing the boundaries of its modern expression.
