Howdy and welcome to the new and improved Stitchin’ Heaven Howdy blog. We are so excited to share with you all of the fantastic products, programs, and events Stitchin’ Heaven has to offer. All the ideas and inspirations in our creative minds need to be shared, and this is why we have decided to create this blog.

At Stitchin' Heaven our main priority is serving the needs and wants of everyone out there that calls themselves a quilter. We strive to "wow people, have fun and be happy".

Who/What is Stitchin’ Heaven?

Stitchin’ Heaven is not a who or what, we are a lifestyle brand for enthusiastic quilters all over the country and internationally. It all started over 23 years ago by Deb Luttrell who had just moved to the small quaint town of Quitman, Texas with the greatest of intentions to raise emus. Her vision was simple, “a premier quilt shop appealing to those that love to quilt and sew and to offer the best fabrics and supplies.” Very quickly Luttrell established herself as a significant player in the quilting industry and only 4 years later brought Stitchin’ Heaven to being ranked one of the Top 10 Quilt Shops in North America.

Over the past 20+ years, Stitchin’ Heaven has generated enormous support from quilters. While Stitchin’ Heaven may not be the biggest quilt store or supply shop in the country we are the biggest in Texas, and we have an unmatched passion for fabric and sewing. In late 2019, Stitchin’ Heaven opened a new 17,500 square foot store back in Quitman, TX.

Deb now is joined by her son and managing partner, Clay. Clay has been involved in the business from almost inception (it opened on his 11th birthday in October of ’96). He knows the quilting industry inside and out and also operates the laser machine division of the company. Clay is a graduate of Texas A&M and has two amazing children: Aspen and Beckham.

Fabrics, Supplies, and Quilt Kits

Stitchin’ Heaven offers the best fabrics produced by the best and most popular designers. We feature renowned designers such as Tula Pink, Kaffe Fassett, Michael Miller, Moda and more. 

We love quilt kits! We understand that you are busy, and we make an effort to ensure all you do is a quilt. You don’t need to waste time shopping and searching for the perfect fabric. We do all that for you. We even offer pre-cut kits which makes the quilting experience even more simple.

Block of the Month

Stitchin’ Heaven is Block of the Month Headquarters! Our staff works hard to give you an assortment of programs with easy-to-understand instructions and we provide these to you monthly. From simple to advanced, choose from lots of techniques, like traditionally pieced, paper-pieced, applique, embroidery, and so many more. Our goal is to offer that beautiful quilt, broken down into pieces that won’t overwhelm you, or your pocketbook.

The Block of the Month subscription program is simply the fun and affordable way for quilters to enjoy Stitchin’ Heaven. We have been offering block of the month style programs for over 20 years making us the undisputed leader in the industry. (Learn More).

Quilting Cruises and Tours

In 2010, a customer suggested to owner Deb Luttrell that she offer quilting cruises. She listened. Stitchin’ Heaven now offers 15+ quilting cruises to destinations including New England/Canada, Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii. Since Deb is a quilter, the cruises are designed from a quilter point of view making them the best in the industry. And, having successfully completed over 75 cruises, the team at Stitchin’ Heaven knows how to treat a quilter right! However, our cruises sell out quickly so don’t delay when announced you see one you would like to join!

In conjunction with the cruises, Stitchin’ Heaven also offers the “Stitchin’ Heaven Experience”. This is a bus trip from a location within 3 hours of the shop so our customers can visit, have a nice lunch with us, drink a little wine, play a few games, and shop till they drop in a quilt-show style setting.
