Tiffany is a wife to Scott and a mom to 3 grown kids. She has a passion for quilting (designing, piecing, hand applique and machine quilting). She has been quilting and teaching for more than 20 years. Her quilts have been featured by numerous publications, including The Quilter Magazine, Modern Quilts Unlimited and Keepsake Quilting, and she’s worked with various designers to create fabric collection-specific quilt patterns. She has developed The Goddess Tool and Block of the Month patterns that utilize that tool. Recently she became the proud owner of a brand new long arm quilting machine. She declares herself a Quilt Addict!
How long have you been quilting?
I started quilting when my oldest child was just a baby. I cannot believe that it has been about 28 years now.
Why did you start writing patterns?
I see quilts everywhere and seem to have a need to create quilts with the designs I see. It was just the next step to write the patterns so that I might share them.
What is your style in quilting?
Precision Piecing! I strive for perfect points I even if I don't always achieve them).
I like to use different triangle to give the illusion of curves with straight line piecing.
I love to needle turn applique as well.
How many sewing machines do you have?
MANY!
1 Janome 1600P
1 Bernina Virtuoso 150
1 Singer Featherweight
1 Treadle Machine
1 Handi Quilter Fusion (with the Pro Stitcher)
1 Janome Embroidery Machine
1 Serger
4 Antique Machines for display
What part of quilting do you enjoy the most?
All of it! I love designing, piecing and the entire quilting process.
I enjoy the fact that I have turned my hobby into a business that lets me share and travel. How great is that?
Tiffany has just a wonderful sewing space. Here are a few more details she told us about:
I have some old sewing machines displayed in my quilt studio. I acquired one of these about 30 years ago, the others were procured by my grand parents.
I have a few reminders on cure signs and bowls of yarns (just in case I feel the need to couch something).
Here is the back edge of my cutting table with the rulers I use the most.
I have quite a collection and might need to find a way to store the less used rulers. For now, this works. I also love the cork board on the wall.
I can pin up the pattern I am working on so it doesn't get lost on the cutting table.
Here is my crazy fabric stash. I collect Batiks (and not too many of them). This pile needs some attention from me, but it is currently organized by a grandson who has been rearranging it since the age of three!
See that big, crazy pin cushion? That belonged to my grandma.
I remember her using that since I was young. She gifted it to me a couple of years ago. It is sentimental for me and I love that she chose me to have it.
My faithful companion is Toby. He is a 12 year old rescue dog.
Toby is a Wheaten Terrier mix (not sure what he is mixed with). He just wouldn't look at me when I tried to take his picture, silly dog.
Thank you so much to Tiffany for letting us see inside her private getaway space. What part of Tiffany's room do you like the best?

Love the display of older machines! I also like the way you have your work stations laid out. It’s nice that you are not isolated from the living areas. Love the quilt on the design wall!
