About The Instructor

Meet Alisha Ridley

Alisha’s embroidery journey is an incredible love story. Over ten years ago, Alisha’s Mother bought herself an embroidery machine at a sewing convention after seeing all the new features of an embroidery machine. Alisha’s Mother asked Alisha to take the machine classes offered at the shop because she knew that Alisha would remember the nuances of the computerized machine and could re-teach her in case she forgot. Being the good daughter, Alisha attended the machine training classes to support her Mother’s new interest, but it quickly became clear that machine embroidery was Alisha’s passion.

That Christmas, Alisha received an embroidery machine of her own. What started out as a fun hobby soon became a side business as she learned everything she could about machine embroidery. When her family moved to New Jersey, her husband’s last duty station in the army, Alisha decided to change from corporate life to working at the local quilting and baby lock dealership in machine embroidery education. Working at the quilt shop introduced her to OESD, which opened new pathways and opportunities for creativity.

When Alisha isn’t thinking, dreaming, and teaching machine embroidery, she enjoys being out in nature and traveling. Alisha is in the process of moving from New Jersey to Texas with her husband and two children.
